ARTIST STATEMENT: THE PAINTED SURFACE
This recent body of work is inspired by astronomical phenomena such as star nurseries and nebula, and includes images from the garden and the natural world. I am interested in a continuous composition, an infinite situation which constantly rejuvinates itself before the eyes of the viewer. The expansive size of many of the works allows the viewer to "enter" the works, to slow down and become lost in the experience of seeing.
